Government extension services are able to support more than two million farmers. Private extensions are usually cultivated - specific and do not cover the range of crops grown. Given this, the average annual renewal rate for private farmers in Ghana is between 1.5% and 2.0%, according to the Ministry of Agriculture.  Very little research has been done on farmers who receive services from these extension agents. Research on renewal benefits for private farmers in Ghana is sparse as their renewal rates are not often evaluated and very little information is available.  Participatory approaches to training and empowering farmers, involving discovery, learning, experimentation, and group action, have been found in many countries at a cost of between $20 and $40 per participant. Blockchain technology may be promising in agriculture and supply management, but we have an opportunity to explore its potential implementation and assess its challenges. Smart contracts can trigger and implement specific measures based on the data stored in the blockchain, thereby improving the quality of agricultural processes and crops produced.
